What a mess!!

This afternoon, my kids were tired from playing all day with their cousins that just moved here from Texas, and were on the couch watching a movie. I decided to be a good mom, and make zucchini bread (of course not telling them that is what it is). I ran down stairs for all of 10 seconds, and when I came back, I found a white mess all over the floor. This picture isn't even half of it. My first instinct was to freak out, but then I thought, when do they ever get to play in flour? So, I grabbed the camera instead. Abby told me that she was "burying Jakey." It took forever to clean up, but at least I got to enjoy them making a mess.

Pity party

I have a bunch of cute pictures that I want to post on my blog, but for some reason, I have not been able to. I guess I will save those for another day. Is anyone else having a problem with this? Probably not, which adds to my pity party. Remember the Schwarzenegger saying, "It's not a tumor"? Well, I always thought that was funny, until I actually got one. Long story short, I have a growth (or a tumor, if you want it to sound scary) on my pituitary gland in my brain. So yes, I have a brain tumor. It sounds worse than it really is. It is not cancerous, or malignant, just a nuisance. I have to take a medication that is supposed to help with the side effects, but it is giving me more trouble than anything. When I am asleep, it totally knocks me out- good thing Jacob is sleeping through the night. When I am awake, it makes me so dizzy and nauseous that I can't think strait sometimes. I need to see a neurologist to determine if this should be removed, or just tough it out for awhile longer. It is constantly on my mind (ha ha), and I am getting tired of it. If anyone has any suggestions on where to go to get brain surgery, let me know.

Zoo fun!!

My kids have been dying to ride the new Carousel at the Zoo, and since I have zoo pass, I better use it! They thought that all of the animals were so cool, and couldn't quite choose which one they wanted to ride on for the long 2 minute adventure. The morning started out fine, until Riley realized that it was 11:00, and he was tired and hungry- not a good combination when it is already 90 degrees outside.  They had already eaten all of the snacks that we brought, so of course they wanted to start buying ice cream, caramel corn, and soda pop from the different snack shops that we passed. I told them that they were fine, and could quench their thirst with my now luke-warm water. They just weren't buying that, so thank goodness for Grandma, who stepped in bought them all a drink of their choice. What would we do without grandparents to spoil the kids? Overall, we did have a lot of fun, and can't wait to go back- especially since we didn't get to see many of the animals.

Our Life

Since I am new to this, I might as well start from the beginning. Tyler and I met right after he returned home from his mission in Taiwan. We hung out a little, and even went on a real date. I left for my mission to Guatemala about 4 months after he got back. While I was gone, we wrote a little, and he was there waiting at the airport when I came home. We hung out that night, and every night since. We were married December 28, 2000. Yea, it was really cold that day! We lived down town Salt Lake City for the first year, which was SO FUN!! We bought our house in Sandy, and have been here for almost 7 years, and have 3 pretty cool kids!!.

Tyler graduated from the U of U in Graphic Design, and pretty much runs his Advertising Agency. He loves playing with the kids, and they absolutely adore him, especially Jakey. I guess it figures that his first word was "Dada." Ty knows how to do just about anything, and if he doesn't know how, he figures it out, or fakes it. On top of doing everything for me at home, he is the Young Men's President in our ward. He keeps pretty busy, but loves everything he does.

I love being a stay at home mom. I am pretty much ready to hand the kids off to Tyler at the end of "my" day. Who knew that staying home would be so much work? If anyone has any advice on how to get everything done in one day, please let me know!! I graduated from the U as well, but I had no idea that I was going to be a Chef, a Counselor, a Doctor and a Nurse, a Coach, a School Teacher, a Cleaner, a Toy repairman, a Gardener, etc. etc. I guess that's life, and I LOVE IT!!

Family Life

Tyler and I live in Sandy, and have no desires to move. We absolutely love our ward and neighborhood. Our kids have tons of friends around, so we are pretty much set.
It's about time that I join the blogging world. I am excited to keep in touch with everyone.
