Let it snow

I have to admit that winter is not my favorite time of the year. However, I do LOVE the fact that my kids have so much fun playing in the snow. They made a cute snow family the last time that it snowed, and were so proud of their creations. Thank goodness that we are going to have snow during Christmas break. I foresee hours of fun on its way...

Christmas Dance recital

Abby switched dance studios this year, and is now taking at AED, which I LOVE! I think she will go wherever she can, because she loves dancing. But I love it because they have great teachers, do technique- yes, even at 6 yrs old, and they are serious about what they do. Do I wish that it was a little cheaper?....... yup. But who doesn't, right?

Abby was so excited for her costumes this time. She just had to model them right when she came home. Anyway, she is in Ballet and Jazz. Both of her dances were darling, and she is getting so good!!
She really has a knack for dancing. Abby always challenges her brothers to arabesque contests, splits contests (now that is a picture for the blog). She has her middle splits down, and is almost there on right and left. Jake loves dancing with her. Here she is warming up right before she had to go backstage.
Friends always make things more fun! Jane is in her class, and they are the cutest ballerinas ever!
Here is her jazz costume. Is it just me, or does she look like she is 16 in the picture?
The boys are always so good to come watch her dance. Riley was so cute, and proud of his little sister after the recital.
Way to go Abs!! You rocked it!

Polar Express

We took the kids to go see Santa and the North Pole on the Polar Express. They were so excited when they finally figured out where we were going. Everyone was so good on the train, and we had so much fun!Jacob was the most excited, due to his love of riding trains.

The conductor was so cute, and the kids were excited they got their tickets punched "just like on the movie!"
The kids were in heaven with their hot chocolate and cookies.
We rode on the train for 45 minutes out to the North Pole. Everyone was so excited to see Santa Claus out the windows! He went from car to car on the ride back, and spent time with each child.
There really was something magical about the trip. I could tell because Jacob actually sang the songs on the train, talked into the microphone, and talked to Santa!! It was such a nice night, and perfect way to start the Christmas season!!
