Sleepover

One of the nice things about having late church on Sunday is having all morning to play. The kids spend the majority of the morning doing crafts, playing w/ legos, and building forts. They asked if they could have a sleepover on Jake's bunkbed/fort on Sunday night. I agreed-- on one condition, that they were GOOD in church. They remembered their deal, and really were good the whole time. They were so excited to get to bed that night. They spent half the night giggling, and then fell asleep. I need to make "church deals" like that more often.

Jake says...

Today as we were driving in the car, Jacob starting crying uncontrollably. When he could finally stop long enough to tell me what was wrong, he said, "Mom, I want my birthday to be May 27". (His is May 29th). When I asked why, he said, "because May 29th is SO MUCH LONGER!."

In a 3 yr. olds' mind, two days really is a long time. To make matters worse, Riley, Abby and I all started laughing at his cute remark. That didn't make him so happy, and he started crying even more. Poor boy.

Grandparents Day

Riley had his 2nd grade Grandparent program in school. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. They learned so many songs that were geared to the "older generation" :). He did such a fabulous job, and LOVED having ALL his grandparents there to support him! They also did a bunch of dances, including the Waltz. He got to dance with both Grandma Price and Grandma Becky. He thought that was pretty cool.
Riley serenaded us every night at dinner time for weeks leading up to the program with all of the songs he had been learning for it. He was chosen to do a special dancing number to "Sunrise, Sunset" with just two couples while all the other kids sang. He was so cute!!

All of the kids were paired up, and had to do all the dances with them. I guess being the tallest boy in the class means getting paired with the tallest girl.
His partner, Brooklyn played a part in the army. Hence, the army outfit.
Riley is quite the mover. He had so much fun during the whole performance. He thought it was fun getting to learn new dances. I love my little guy!!
