Happy St. Patty's Day

Of course, I forgot to take pictures of how cute the kids all looked in their green attire for the big day. They were excited when they woke up to find the leprechauns had turned our house upside down, and left magic leprechaun dust all over. They left lucky charms and green milk for the kids. When Riley went to bed, he left a note on the table for "Tippety" the leprechaun to please leave "one girl toy and two boy toys" during the night for the kids. Do leprechauns really leave toys? I don't remember getting any when I was young, but Riley was insistent on what he thought was the norm. If anyone has insight on this holiday policy, please fill me in. He did not get any presents, but a note from Tippety that said to wait for Easter for a fun toy.

When I was little, we never, ever got toys for St.Paddy's Day. In fact, I remember my mom saying what a "dumb holiday" it is. Needless to say, we aren't Irish.

I think Tippity had some fun with the furniture but I don't think leprechauns leave toys. Smart answer on the Easter bunny. I'm so happy he brought Lucky Charms though since Grandma Leprechaun didn't. The tradition is still alive!

I used to go in the kids rooms the night before St. Patrick's Day and put leprechaun "kisses" (shamrock stickers) all over them. They figured out it was me years ago, so I stopped doing it. Leprechauns don't leave toys, but the turning the house upside down idea makes me feel uneasy. I'm such a neat freak.

What a cute idea. Every year we read a poem and decorate a treasure box the night before St. Patrick's Day. The kids leave the boxes out in the moon light and in the morning they have to follow a trail of greenery to find their boxes filled with coins and treats. They get so excited for this every year. It has become one of our favorite traditions.
