Sibling rivalry

Tonight as the kids were getting ready for bed, this was my conversation with Jake:

Jake: Mom, Abby hates me
Me: No, she doesn't
Jake: Yes she does!!!
Me: Why would she hate you?
Jake: "I don't know. But tonight at dinner Abby told me she was going to stab me in the heart with her fork!"

Needless to say, I started laughing at Jacob, so he got mad and pouted off. Too funny.

Key West

Tyler and I just got back from an awesome trip to Key West! It was such a perfect getaway, and I LOVED having some time with my hubby!! My parent watched the kids, and took such great care of them. Thanks Mom & Dad!

There was a big storm right before we got there on Saturday, so it was a little rainy and breezy. It got nicer each day though. We loved being on the island! I think palm trees are my favorite things. I just might have to move somewhere warm one day. Palm trees just don't do well in Salt Lake.

My sexy man on the beach. We ate yummy island drinks all day on Tuesday when we were at the beach.

The sand was SO soft! I could have spent the whole time there. Our hotel was the yellow one behind us. We were so close to the beach. We loved everything about our hotel! It was super nice! We went out on a snorkeling/ dolphin watching excursion. It was so fun!! We weren't able to get in the water with the dolphins, but it was cool being able to see them up close in the open waters.

We at SO MUCH GOOD FOOD!!!! Seriously. We were literally sick every night because we were eating so much. We had sushi (pictured above), shrimp, lobster tail, crab, seared tuna, grouper, etc. Everything was so fresh and delicious!! Did you know that Key West is know for their Key Lime Pie? Ya. We didn't either, but I guess it makes sense. We tried so many different key lime pies, and this one was by far the winner... it was at the Blue Heaven restaurant. It is know for their breakfasts, and pie. Ohhhhh... so good! This pic below is Tyler there at Blue Heaven. Everything is outdoors, and so laid back. Time doesn't really exist, and everyone is kind of on their own schedule. It was great.

We got a trolley pass to go around the island. There was a ton of really cool history there, and it was a fun way to see everything.

This is our hotel as we were taking off. We could have used a few more days there. It was such a fun island, and one we will most definitely go back to!! Thanks for the great trip Ty! Love you!!

Jake says...

On Monday night for FHE, Tyler did our lesson on Emergency Preparedness. He told the kids that along w/ all the necessary items, it might be nice to have something to keep you happy (stuffed animals, toy, card games, etc.) He asked the kids, "What would you put in your emergency backpack?" Jake's response was, "Emergency gadgets... like a firehose!"

He always keeps us laughing!

Abby's Baptism

I cannot believe this day has actually come! Abby has been so looking forward to turning 8 for such a long time. She has been so excited to get baptized, and is 100% ready for this big step!
Abby was so excited to have her Daddy baptize her. They have planned this day for a long time. I am so blessed to have Tyler as a worthy priesthood holder in our family to perform sacred ordinances like baptism for our children.
Abby said that she was a little nervous, but more excited than anything for her big day!
She is such a good example to our family!
The baptism and confirmation prayer were beautiful. Tyler promised Abby so many neat blessings if she remains faithful throughout her life.

Abby (and I) got a little emotional as I was bearing my testimony after she was confirmed. She is such an amazing young girl, and I just feel so proud to see her growing up and making good choices. One of her greatest influences are her friends. Here she is with her best friends who came to support her at her baptism.
Grandma & Grandpa Price gave her a cool Book of Mormon book, and a beautiful white bracelet that she hasn't wanted to take off.
Grandma & Grandpa Sohm giving Abby a journal, a tithing bank, and a goal sheet to write down all of her future goals. We LOVE our grandparents, and are so blessed to have them supporting us in everything!
Tyler made the observation that the Priesthood circle from Abby's baby blessing to her baptism was almost identical. That is a pretty powerful testimony of all the good, worthy family members and friends that we have. We had so many people there supporting Abby: Grandparents, Great grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Friends, Primary leaders, School teachers, Neighbors, etc. It was pretty amazing, and so fun to have all of our family over for a big after-party. Thank you to Everyone for coming and supporting Abby!!!!

We love you so much Abby! We are SO proud of you, and the beautiful, sweet daughter that you are! Your Heavenly Father is so grateful for you, and the decision you made to Choose the Right!

Happy Easter

Easter is such a fun time of year!! I loved the warm weather, and feeling the kids excitement. Jacob asked every day for a week if it was Easter yet. Well, it finally came. The kids had fun coloring eggs.
The Easter Bunny hid their baskets in fun places. I swear they didn't have any space left in their baskets to even put any eggs. They had to dump out all of their candy and prizes that were in the baskets to collect the eggs. The E.B. totally outdid himself this year.
Meili was in heaven with the little surprises she found in her basket. She had so much fun!
We have 9 am church, so pictures before church were out of the question. We managed to get a couple when we got home. The girls' were so cute in their purple dresses.
Of course Jacob wouldn't wear his vest and tie. I think he was half-way undressed by the time we got out of church. Oh, that boy...
Riley looking very dapper.
My sweet Abby
Crazy Jake
Baby Mei

Grandma's house for Easter dinner. All the cousins got to sit together.
My dad was so cute and put together an Egg Tournament. We had to hit our eggs together, and the last one without being cracked won. The winner was my cute niece Ellie. She got the Golden Egg w/ $10!!
Jake and Josh competing in the tournament.

Out for the easter egg hunt in Grandma's back yard.
Meili and Eli had fun putting the eggs in Mei's bucket. Who needs treats?
We had a great day, and hope everyone had a Happy Easter too!!

Happy Birthday Abby!!

I can't believe my baby girl is 8 years old!! Time is going Way too fast!! I love you more than anything in the world Abby! You are such a sweet girl! You are so full of life, so caring, and sweet! You are the best helper with Meili, and your brothers love you too! We are so lucky to have you in our family!

Abby had a super fun birthday party on Friday, April 6, which is her actual b-day. She wanted to have a "Cooking Party, " so cook we did.
Here is the birthday girl early in the morning to find the whole island covered in presents. She still looks a little sleepy.
Our family's b-day & holiday tradition is to have Hostess raspberry-filled donuts for breakfast.
We have so many darling friends in our neighborhood that are Abby's age. For the party, we had all of the girls decorate an apron and chef's hats. They turned out so cute! Abby made a new apron with Grandma Becky for her b-day sleepover with her, so she sported that for the party.
It was a lunch party, so we had the girls make their own pizzas. They were pretty adventurous with their toppings. I was quite impressed.
While the pizza's were baking, the girls made their own fruit salads. They cut up their own fruit, and put whatever they wanted in them.

Time to eat! The funnest part of the party was listening to the girls talk and giggle as they ate their pizza's, fruit salad and lemonade.
After they ate, we had presents, games, decorated cupcakes which they got to take home in a cute box, and had cake and ice cream.

My mom came to the party, mostly as a guest, but she ended up taking care of Meili the whole time. Thanks mom! You're the best! She gave Abby this darling green scarf (that she is in love with), and a fun bag for all of her "stuff."
Riley wanted to be the Soux Chef for the party, so he got this fun mustache to wear.
It was such a fun party! A lot of work having to clean the kitchen between each activity, but the girls LOVED it, and Abby was SO happy with how it all turned out. Birthday party's are always so busy, but I love seeing my kids happy in the end.

Abby wanted to go mini-golfing later with just the family. Then we ended up at McDonald's for dinner. It was the b-day girls' choice. We had a great day celebrating with our baby girl!!
I love you Abby! I hope you had a Happy 8th Birthday!!
